We got back, talked for a while, and fell asleep before the sun rose. So I wrote this song about the sunrise that I had hoped I'd see. I missed that, but I've been granted sunrises every day since.

the day is slowly dawning and there ain’t no time for yawning, my God it’s so beautiful.

Pick up your face and rejoice for the new day

The daytime has come, and there’s work needs to be done, but it can wait.
Cause’ this feels great
The sun’s face beams down upon us, can’t you feel it shining on us, oh isn’t it great?

Don’t let your mind astray
Just look up to the sky and rejoice for the new day.
